KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -The Kansas City Royals recalled right-hander Kyle Davies from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday to start against the Cleveland Indians.
Davies was 7-15 last season, splitting time between the Royals and the Atlanta Braves. He was 6-2 with a 2.06 ERA in 10 starts this season at Omaha.
The Royals designated catcher Brayan Pena for assignment. He was a waiver claim on Friday from Atlanta and the Royals have 10 days to place him on waivers, trade or release him.
