ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Josh Hamilton took the turn on Ballpark Way driving toward the Texas Rangers’ stadium, and felt right at home.
A month and a day after being re-acquired by the Rangers, Hamilton was set Thursday night for his first home game in Texas since the 2012 season.
Even though Hamilton is fighting a cold, he described himself before the game as ”very excited.” He says he always has good memories seeing the stadium, previously his home from 2008-12.
During those five seasons, he was the 2010 AL MVP, an All-Star each season and helped the Rangers get to their only two World Series.
The Los Angeles Angels traded Hamilton back to Texas on April 27. He rejoined the Rangers on Monday in Cleveland, and says he’s having more fun each game.
