ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Texas Rangers starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy left the game against the Boston Red Sox after the second inning Friday night because of a blister on his right middle finger. McCarthy pitched a perfect first inning before running into trouble in the second. He allowed four runs on just one hit as he walked four batters - including the first three of the frame. The right-hander threw 47 pitches in the second inning. Wes Littleton relieved McCarthy to start the third. McCarthy came into the game with a 4-4 record and a 5.82 ERA. He was 3-0 with a 2.31 ERA in his previous four starts. |
