DENVER (AP) -Mets left fielder Marlon Anderson strained his left hamstring Friday night against the Colorado Rockies, further depleting New York’s outfield.
Anderson was hurt running out a grounder to second base in the fourth inning. He was replaced by Fernando Tatis, who homered in the sixth.
The Mets’ outfield has been hit hard by injuries this month. Regular left fielder Moises Alou was put on the disabled list Thursday with a strained left calf, and reserve Angel Pagan has been on the DL since May 13 with a bruised left shoulder.
Right fielder Ryan Church sustained a mild concussion Tuesday in Atlanta and hasn’t started the past three days. He experienced dizziness on the team’s flight from Atlanta to Denver on Thursday night.
New York’s remaining healthy outfielders are Endy Chavez and Carlos Beltran.
