CINCINNATI (AP) -Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto has an ear infection that could heal quickly with medication.
Votto came down with the flu this month and became dizzy during a trip to Arizona and San Diego last week. He stayed in San Diego for tests and had more of them when he rejoined the team in Cincinnati.
Doctors think the infection in his left ear is linked to his flu and flying to the West Coast aggravated the problem.
The Reds are home for the next week. Votto, the team’s top hitter at .366, could be back in the lineup in a few days.
