ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -The Florida Marlins claimed outfielder Todd Linden off waivers from San Francisco on Friday.
Linden hit .182 and had three RBIs in 30 games with the Giants this season. Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said Linden, who will be a backup corner outfielder and pinch-hitter, is expected to join the team Saturday.
Florida designated outfielder John Gall for assignment. He appeared in three games and went hitless in four at-bats.
