ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton left Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels prior to the eighth inning after crashing into the padded wall in right-center on a leaping catch in the seventh.
Hamilton sprinted to his left and caught Howie Kendrick’s drive before running into the wall. Hamilton’s left forearm struck the wall and he fell on the warning track before scrambling to his feet and throwing back to the infield to keep Gary Matthews at first.
Hamilton finished the inning but was replaced by Marlon Byrd to start the eighth.
The Rangers’ slugger came off the 15-day disabled list earlier this week after missing 13 games with a rib injury sustained when he crashed into the outfield wall in Toronto.
