NEW YORK (AP) -Third baseman Joe Crede is questionable for the rest of the Minnesota Twins’ series against the New York Yankees after he left Friday night’s game with tightness in his back and hamstrings.
Crede says he’s feeling better but isn’t sure when he’ll be able to return to the lineup. He departed in the fifth inning of the series opener.
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire thinks Crede should be able to avoid a stint on the disabled list but the team will know more in a day or two.
Crede, who has a history of back problems, is batting .232 with five homers and 15 RBIs in 27 games this season.
Brian Buscher was in the lineup at third for Saturday’s game against New York.
