ST. LOUIS (AP) -Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Yovani Gallardo will start on regular rest next week after getting only four outs Friday night in a game that was postponed by rain.
Manager Ken Macha said Braden Looper will start the makeup game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday, followed by Dave Bush and Gallardo on Tuesday and Wednesday at Houston.
Looper and Bush were moved up a day from the original schedule, but both will be on regular rest. Gallardo, 4-1 with a 3.09 ERA in seven starts, will get regular rest despite throwing only 30 pitches.
Five of the Cardinals’ first eight hitters reached base against Gallardo on Friday, with Colby Rasmus’ two-run homer in the second washed out.
