SEATTLE (AP) -The Seattle Mariners bolstered their bullpen on Sunday, acquiring right-hander Jason Davis from the Cleveland Indians for a player to be named.
Davis has appeared in eight games this season and has no record with a 4.76 ERA for the Indians. He has spent his entire career in the Indians organization and was 3-2 with a 3.74 ERA in 39 games last year.
Davis has appeared in 114 major league games and made 52 starts. He’s expected to join the Mariners during their series against the Angels beginning on Tuesday.
“He was very effective last year after being moved full-time to the bullpen and his ability to work long or short,” Mariners’ general manager Bill Bavasi said.
