WASHINGTON (AP) -Washington Nationals right-hander Shawn Hill left Friday night’s game against the Florida Marlins with a sore right elbow after throwing five no-hit innings.
Hill walked two batters and retired the other 15 Marlins. He went out to warm up for the top of the sixth, when he was visited on the mound by manager Manny Acta and a team trainer.
Hill left the field to a partial standing ovation, and reliever Winston Abreu entered to begin the inning.
