MILWAUKEE (AP) -Brewers manager Ken Macha suggested a pitch by Chicago Cubs starter Ryan Dempster that glanced off the helmet of Brewers slugger Ryan Braun on Saturday deserves to be reviewed by Major League Baseball.
Dempster hit Braun with the pitch in the fifth inning of the Brewers’ 12-6 victory over the Cubs. “I think the league frowns at people throwing at other people’s heads,” Macha said after the Brewers lost 4-2 to the Cubs on Sunday. “I don’t know if (baseball’s vice president for discipline) Bob Watson has looked at it.”
Braun came back to hit a home run off Dempster later in the game, and stared the pitcher down as he began to circle the bases. Braun did not address the issue after the game.
“If they threw at my head, I wouldn’t be happy about it,” Macha said.
