PITTSBURGH (AP) -Left fielder Ryan Braun hopes to rejoin the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday after an MRI exam on his stiff back revealed no structural damage, but the team is uncertain when he can return to the lineup.
With Braun unavailable, the Brewers moved third baseman Bill Hall to left field for Monday night’s game in Pittsburgh. Hall has primarily been an infielder during his eight-season career, but played 130 games as an outfielder with Milwaukee in 2007.
The Brewers are listing Braun as day to day.
He began having problems last week after being hit in the back with a pitch by the Pirates’ Jeff Karstens.
Braun is hitting .314 with five homers, four doubles and 16 RBIs in 23 games.
