ATLANTA (AP) -Braves right-hander Kenshin Kawakami has fatigue in his pitching shoulder and his next start has been pushed back three days to Tuesday.
The Braves are off on Thursday, and Derek Lowe is scheduled to start Friday night’s series opener against Houston. Jair Jurrjens will move into the start on Saturday originally scheduled for Kawakami, followed by Jo-Jo Reyes on Sunday.
Javier Vazquez is Atlanta’s scheduled starter on Monday against the New York Mets, followed by Kawakami in the second game of the two-game series on Tuesday.
Kawakami is 1-3 with a 7.06 ERA. He has allowed 24 hits and walked 11 batters in 21 2-3 innings.
