NEW YORK (AP) -Reliever LaTroy Hawkins was put on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday by the Colorado Rockies, who activated reliever Tom Martin from the DL before their game against the New York Mets.
Hawkins, a right-hander bothered by inflammation in his pitching elbow, is 0-3 with an 8.59 ERA In 7 1-3 innings over nine games.
Martin, a left-hander, had been on the disabled list since March 29 with a strained left groin. In spring training, he gave up six home runs in 5 1-3 innings. In a rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs, Martin had a 7.20 ERA and gave up four runs in five innings, including two homers.
