MILWAUKEE (AP) -The Milwaukee Brewers reinstated center fielder Tony Gwynn from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.
Gwynn missed 12 games with a strained left hamstring after being placed on the disabled list April 9, retroactive to April 4. He was on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville.
Gwynn had four hits in seven at-bats in three games this season.
He is expected to split time in center field with Gabe Kapler until Mike Cameron returns from his 25-game suspension. Cameron is eligible to return Tuesday.
Gwynn takes the roster spot of Gabe Gross, who was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday.
