DETROIT (AP) -The Detroit Tigers placed right-handed reliever Jose Mesa on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a pulled muscle in his right groin. He is 0-1 with a 20.25 ERA, pitching 2 2-3 innings in four appearances. Detroit recalled right-handed reliever Aquilino Lopez from its Triple-A affiliate in Toledo to fill Mesa's roster spot. Lopez has four saves and hasn't allowed a run in seven appearances (6 1-3 innings) and doesn't have a decision. |
