NEW YORK (AP) -Mets reliever Duaner Sanchez, who hasn’t pitched in the majors since a July 2006 taxi accident, was activated from the disabled list Tuesday.
The 28-year-old right-hander was the primary setup man for closer Billy Wagner before separating his throwing shoulder in the accident. He underwent surgery and tried to return during spring training last year, but he felt a pop in his shoulder and needed another operation.
The Mets optioned right-hander Carlos Muniz to Triple-A New Orleans to make room for Sanchez.
