SEATTLE (AP) - Paul McCartney will perform the first public concert at Safeco Field on July 19.
The former Beetle will play the home of the Seattle Mariners as part of his ``Out There'' tour, Live Nation announced on Monday. McCartney already has announced dates for Boston's Fenway Park and Nationals Ballpark in Washington. The Beach Boys played a private concert at Safeco Field in 2008. McCartney's show will be the first public concert, according to the Mariners.
Aside from baseball, the stadium has hosted a college football bowl game, World Cup soccer qualifying and WWE's WrestleMania.
Tickets will go on sale Friday. The stadium is expected to hold more than 40,000 for the show.
