SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -San Diego placed catcher Michael Barrett on the 15-day disabled list with a strained ligament in his right elbow before the Padres’ game against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.
Barrett injured the elbow during the Padres’ 8-4 victory over the Giants on Monday night. He’s hitting .250 with three runs and two walks in three games this season.
Catcher Colt Morton was recalled from Double-A San Antonio to take his place on the 25-man roster. Morton appeared in one game with the Padres last year as a pinch hitter.
