CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) -Wandy Rodriguez allowed one hit in six innings and struck out 11 as a Houston Astros split-squad lost to Double-A affiliate Corpus Christi Hooks 6-5 Thursday night.
Rodriguez, Houston’s No. 2 starter making his last spring start, left with a 2-0 lead.
Jose Capellan gave up three runs in the seventh, including Jhon Florentino’s two-run homer.
Brian Esposito’s two-run homer in the ninth inning off minor-league left-hander Chris Salamida won it.
The Astros scored three times in the eighth, getting run-scoring singles from Humberto Quintero and Lance Berkman sandwiched around a Hooks error that brought in another run for a 5-3 lead.
Andrew Locke hit an eighth-inning homer for Corpus Christi.
