WASHINGTON (AP) -The Washington Nationals corrected themselves Sunday, saying they had agreed to a minor league contract with infielder Ray Olmedo – and not Olmedo Saenz, as they announced a day earlier.
Olmedo has a .228 career average in 403 at-bats since breaking into the major leagues with Cincinnati in 2003.
In 2007, he hit .216 with one RBI in 51 at-bats with Toronto.
