JUPITER, Fla. (AP) -Alejandro De Aza had two hits and an RBI to help the Florida Marlins beat the University of Miami 7-2 Tuesday.
Chris Seddon struck out three in two scoreless innings for Florida, which used eight pitchers and allowed only one walk.
“We threw strikes and made a couple of nice plays defensively,” Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said. “It was a good day overall.”
Bobby Keppel pitched a scoreless first and Lee Mitchell homered for Florida.
Ryan Jackson had three doubles and an RBI for the Hurricanes.
