MESA, Ariz. (AP) - Chicago Cubs right-hander Matt Garza says he has no pain from the pulled side muscle that prevents him from throwing. A week after feeling a twinge in his left side while throwing batting practice, Garza said Sunday that he's progressing and getting better. He says there is just a ``little spot that's annoying.'' Manager Dale Sveum says the problem is ``very slight'' and that Garza gets better every day. The pitcher was limited to 18 starts in 2012 because of an elbow injury. He was going through his most extensive work since last July when he felt something a week ago. Garza wore a bulky wrap around his midsection in the Cubs clubhouse Sunday. He isn't sure when he will throw again, but hopes to in the next few days. |
