DENVER (AP) -Left-handed reliever Randy Flores agreed to a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies on Thursday and was invited to spring training as a non-roster invitee.
If added to the 40-man roster, he gets a one-year contract calling for a salary of $600,000 in majors, $78,000 in minors. He would also earn another $25,000 each for 60, 65, 70 and 75 games pitched for the Rockies.
The 33-year-old Flores went 1-0 with a 5.26 ERA in 43 games for the St. Louis Cardinals last season.
In six seasons with the Cardinals (2004-08), Texas (2002) and Colorado (2002), Flores is 9-4 with a 4.78 ERA in 263 major league games. He went 0-2 with a 9.53 ERA with the Rockies in 2002 after he was claimed on waivers on July 18.
