CHICAGO (AP) – When the Chicago White Sox started making moves over the winter, Adam Eaton says he ramped up his training even more.
Chicago’s productive offseason was a big hit with the center fielder and the rest of the returning players after the White Sox finished fourth in the AL Central a year ago.
General manager Rick Hahn bolstered the bullpen by signing left-hander Zach Duke and closer David Robertson. He also strengthened the rotation by trading for Jeff Samardzija, and added a couple more bats for the lineup by signing Adam LaRoche and Melky Cabrera.
With the White Sox – new and old – gathering this weekend in Chicago for the team’s annual fan convention, Eaton says he is excited about the upcoming season and the team has what it needs to compete for a championship.
