ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -Darren Oliver and the Los Angeles Angels avoided arbitration, agreeing Friday to a one-year contract worth $3,665,000.
The left-hander became a free agent after the season, then accepted the Angels’ arbitration offer last month.
He was 7-1 with a 2.88 ERA in 54 relief appearances last year, when he made $2 million. His victories and ERA were career-bests. The 38-year-old pitcher is the Angels’ longest-tenured player at 13 years.
Four Angels remain in arbitration: right-hander Ervin Santana, catcher Mike Napoli, shortstop Maicer Izturis and third baseman Robb Quinlan. They are scheduled to exchange proposed salaries with the team on Tuesday.
