ST. LOUIS, MO (TheSpread) – The 2012 NLCS continues on Friday night with Game 5 of the series. Here is a look at the odds for this contest.

Game 5 features the St. Louis Cardinals hosting the San Francisco Giants at 8:05PM ET with the Cardinals leading the series, 3-1 (View Matchup). The Giants have Barry Zito taking the mound to face Lance Lynn of the Cardinals. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Cardinals are favored to win Game 5, as they have odds of -155 for this game, while the Giants have odds of +145 for this contest. The over/under total for the game has been set at 8 runs. The Cardinals are 95-77 on the season and 53-32 at home while the Giants are 98-73 overall and 49-37 on the road. Lynn was on the mound in Game 1 when the Cardinals won 6-4. Zito led the Giants to a 4-2 win over the Cardinals with Lynn on the mound back on August 7.

There is not a series price available for this game with the Cardinals on the brink of clinching the series. St. Louis won Game 4 on Thursday night, 8-3. The Cardinals were able to score a combined six runs between the fifth and seventh innings to pull away. Adam Wainwright pitched seven innings for St. Louis, allowing just four hits and one earned run with five strikeouts. John Jay, Matt Holliday, and Yadier Molina each had two hits and drove in two runs for the Cardinals. Tim Lincecum got his first playoff start this year for the Giants, but allowed four runs and six hits ove 4.2 innings.
