LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – The battle for NL Pennant in 2015 should be very competitive. Here is a look at the odds to claim this year’s title.
According to the latest oddsmakers, the St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals are co-favorites to win the NLCS, as each has 13/4 odds. Other short odds to win are the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have 17/4 odds while the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants each have 6/1 odds.
The Cardinals have the top record in the NL at 56-33, as they have a 2.5-game lead in the NL Central. St. Louis has won the NL Pennant 19 times, last doing so in 2013.
The Nationals are 48-39 right now and the leaders in the NL East by 2 games. Washington has never won the NL Pennant in its franchise history.
The Dodgers are 51-39 on the season and they have a 4.5-game lead in the NL West. Los Angeles has won the NL Pennant 21 times, with the last title coming in 1988.
The Pirates actually have the second-best record in the NL at 53-35, but they are stuck behind the Cardinals in the NL Central. Pittsburgh has the top spot in the NL Wild Card by 5.5 games. The Pirates last won the NL Pennant in 1979 and they have won a total of 9 NL Pennants.
The Giants are 46-43 on the season and 4.5 games out of first in the NL West. The Giants are currently 2 games out of the NL Wild Card race. San Francisco has won the NL Pennant a total of 23 times and is the defending NL champion.
