Through two starts, Nola has a 3.27 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. He allowed one run on six hits over five innings of work in a 3-2 loss to the Nationals last Friday. He struck out six and did not walk a batter while needing 90 pitches to get through five innings.
Syndergaard has turned in three quality starts in three chances this season. His ERA is a microscopic 0.95 and his WHIP is even more impressive at 0.81. He suffered a torn fingernail last Friday in a shortened start against the Marlins, but he should be fine.
Bet Tonight’s Phillies vs. Mets Game
OUR PICK: The Mets are a perfect 4-0 in Syndergaard’s last four starts against the Phillies and are 9-4 in his last 13 home starts versus a team with a losing record. The Phillies, meanwhile, are just 2-8 in Nola’s last 10 starts and are 1-5 in his last six starts on the road. With the Mets sitting has heavy money line favorites, the runline offers better value.
