Cardinals Season Odds
With a nice balance of young and veteran talent, along with a healthy Chris Carpenter, the St. Louis Cardinals are quietly ready to make a run in 2009.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have made the Cardinals 20/1 long shots to win the 2009 World Series and have established their National League Pennant odds at 10/1.
Most baseball pundits favor the Chicago Cubs to win the NL Central this season, and everyone else likes the Milwaukee Brewers to possible challenge them. But people shouldn’t fall asleep on the Cardinals this year, who have more than enough talent to not only win the division, but also make a run in the National League.
St. Louis got a huge boost to their rotation when Chris Carpenter emerged from spring training healthy and ready to compete. If he can stay healthy, the Cards’ rotation is good enough to keep them in every ball game and when you have offensive talent like Albert Pujols, Rick Ankiel, Ryan Ludwick, Troy Glaus and Khalil Greene, you’re going to sniff 90 wins.
