D’Backs Season Odds
Boasting one of the best starting rotations in the National League, the Arizona Diamondbacks are one of the favorites to win the NL Pennant in 2009.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have made the Diamondbacks 18/1 long shots to win the 2009 MLB World Series and 8/1 to win the National League.
As previously mentioned, the D’Backs feature one of the best starting pitching rotations in the National League. Brandon Webb is the ace, but No. 2 Dan Haren can be just as dominant and the addition of Jon Garland gives ‘Zona a strong, veteran presence in the rotation.
If the D’Backs are going to make some noise this year, they’ll need youngsters like Chris Young and Justin Upton to produce. The bullpen doesn’t have a dominant closer, but Chad Qualls can be steady if he has control.
Many public bettors like the Dodgers to emerge in the NL West this season, but just because L.A. was able to re-sign Manny Ramirez doesn’t mean that they should automatically be crowned division champs. With their pitching, Arizona is going to give the Dodgers a run for their money this year and is a solid value bet at 18/1.
