The main card for Saturday’s show will air live on Showtime at 10PM ET. This card has five featured bouts with one title fight. Here are some picks to consider for Saturday.
Strikeforce Heavyweight Bout: Fedor Emelianenko (-260) vs. Dan Henderson (+210): Henderson is moving up in weight to take on Fedor. Henderson usually fights at middleweight or light heavyweight, so Fedor should have an edge when it comes to size and power. Henderson will have a slight edge in wrestling, but Fedor has the submission advantage. Both men have big punching power, but I suspect that Fedor will do enough to tire Henderson and score a third round submission. FREE PICK: Fedor Emelianenko (-260)
Strikeforce Women’s Welterweight Championship: Marlos Coenen (-130) vs. Miesha Tate (+100): I look for Coenen to retain her title as her submission wrestling should be enough to neutralize Tate’s wrestling. Neither fighter should score a big KO strike, so look for Coenen to win by choke in the later rounds FREE PICK: Marlos Coenen -130
Strikeforce Middleweight Bout: Tim Kennedy (-235) vs. Robbie Lawler (+185): Of all the fights, I feel best about Kennedy winning this one. Lawler is just a striker that struggles with wrestlers and jiu-jitsu specialists. Lawler will look for a big punch and then Kennedy will find an opening and score a takedown. From there, he will slowly work his way to a submission. Give me Kennedy by choke in the second round. FREE PICK: Tim Kennedy -235
