According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Bodog Siver is a slight favorite in this contest with odds of -135 while Wiman has odds of +105. UFC 132 takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and airs live on PPV, starting at 9PM ET.
WHY PICK SIVER
Siver (18-7) is a German kickboxer that is very short and compact, which makes him tough to get to the ground. Siver has some very powerful kicks and he likes to work the body, which tends to affect the conditioning of his opponents. He doesn’t quite have KO power, but he does pack a good punch in his hands and legs. His opponent, Wiman, has always struggled to get over the hump in the division. A win over Siver would be the biggest win in Wiman’s career, which could play a mental factor in this fight.
WHY PICK WIMAN
Wiman (13-5) is a good all around scrapper. He has some good punching power and he is a very solid grappler. He also has a great motor, as he pushes a fast pace for 15 minutes, which could help tire Siver, who is carrying a lot of muscle on his body. Wiman has typically struggled with compact and strong fighters, but he still has the ability to out-work Siver in this contest.
WHO TO PICK?
This is a tough one to call because the lightweight division is filled with guys that can beat one another on any given night. I wouldn’t doubt that if these guys faced off 10 times, they would each win five. For this contest, I think Wiman will have trouble getting Siver to the ground, which will leave the fight standing. With it standing, I see Siver doing enough to out-point Wiman and get the decision victory.
