Barry vs. Beltran Pick

2011 UFC Picks and Predictions Pat Barry Joey Beltran

KILLEEN, TX (TheSpread) – UFC Heavyweight Pat Barry looks to get back on track Saturday when he takes on Joey Beltran at UFC Fight For The Troops 2.

UFC Fight For The Troops 2 takes place from Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas and will air live on Spike TV at 9PM ET. Barry enters the fight as the favorite according to oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com as he has betting odds of -250 while Beltran comes into the fight with odds of +190.

Pat Barry (5-2)

Barry is a tremendous kick boxer with some of the most-powerful leg kicks in all of MMA. Despite his impressive standup, Barry has struggled against grapplers. To better himself, Barry has started working on his wrestling with Brock Lesnar, but we will see how that translates into his fight.

Joey Beltran (12-4)

Beltran is a scrapper that looks to finish with his fists, as 10 of his 12 wins have come by knockout. Beltran is 2-1 in UFC competition, with his last loss coming against Matt Mitrione. Beltran has been pushed to the limit in his last two fights, so he has the gas tank to go 15 minutes, but he is fighting against a superior striker, so his grappling will be key in this fight.

Who To Pick?

I look for Barry to come out and land some quick leg kicks that will really take Beltran out of his game and keep him from utilizing his grappling. This is a must-win for Barry, who has a lot of potential, so I look for him to put on a solid showing and win by TKO late in the second round. UFC FREE PICK: PAT BARRY -250
