Cerrone (26-6) is a muay thai striker that has won his last six bouts, but is fighting for the second time in 15 days after Henderson’s original opponent, Eddie Alvarez, pulled out due to illness. Henderson (21-4) is the former UFC Lightweight Champion, but coming off a loss in his last bout in August.
The latest odds according to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv have Henderson as the favorite in this fight, as he is getting odds of -150 to win, while Cerrone is getting a money line of +120 to prevail. These two will meet in the co-main event tonight from Boston. The main card airs on Fox Sports 1 at 10PM ET.
These two have met twice before and Henderson has gotten the nod both times, but Cerrone is a much better fighter now and he seems to be in a zone right now. His striking looks as good as anyone’s, and surely he knows where Henderson is vulnerable after the former champs has lost two of his last four. Henderson could use his wrestling to try and earn a decision, but he seems content to stand these days, which will open him up to get picked apart by Cerrone.
UFC FIGHT NIGHT FREE PICK: Donald Cerrone +120
