According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 1/1 to win this year’s Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers have the next best odds at 2/1, while the Atlanta Falcons are 11/2 and the Baltimore Ravens are the current long shot at 15/2.
The Patriots blew out the Texans 41-28 in the Divisional Round, covering easily as a 9.5-point favorite. Tom Brady threw for 344 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions, while Wes Welker racked up 131 receiving yards. New England did lose tight end Rob Gronkowski for the postseason after he re-injured his forearm, but clearly oddsmakers don’t believe the Patriots will be slowed anytime soon.
Meanwhile, the Ravens upset the Broncos 38-35 in double overtime, covering as a 9.5-point favorite in Denver. On Saturday night the 49ers routed the Packers 45-31 as a 3-point home favorite and while they didn’t cover the 2.5-point spread, the Falcons beat the Seahawks 30-28 on Sunday of the Divisional Round.
The Patriots and 49ers are the current Super Bowl matchup favored by oddsmakers at 5/6 odds. The Patriots-Falcons matchup is next at 9/4 while the Ravens-49ers matchup is 6/1. The Ravens-Falcons matchup is the biggest long shot at 9/1.
