Wild Card Odds
The 2009 NFL Playoffs are set to kickoff this weekend with four Wild Card games. Oddsmakers have released the point spreads and over/under totals for Wild Card Weekend.
Rather amazingly, oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made all four home teams underdogs this weekend. And two games are expected to be shootouts, with two over/under totals being set at 50-plus points.
The first game of the weekend pits the surprising 11-5 Atlanta Falcons against the struggling 9-7 Arizona Cardinals. The Falcons opened as –2.5 favorites, while the over/under total was set at a whopping 51 points.
The second game on Saturday features the red hot Indianapolis Colts – winners of eight in a row – and the San Diego Chargers, who didn’t clinch the AFC West Division title until the last game of the season. San Diego has opened as a +1 home underdog, while the over/under total has been set at 51.
Sunday’s action kicks off with a pair of teams that weren’t expected to be in the playoffs this season, as the Baltimore Ravens head to South Florida to take on the surprising Miami Dolphins. The Ravens are currently –3 favorites and the over/under total has been set at 37.5
The final game of the weekend is in Minnesota as the NFC North Champion Vikings host the sixth seeded Philadelphia Eagles at the Metrodome. The Vikings have been established as +3 underdogs and the over/under total sits at 42.
