Australian Masters Odds

Tiger Woods hits the links overseas again this week as he takes part in the 2009 JBWere Australian Masters from Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia.

The tournament begins Thursday and the field is not too deep, making Woods the overwhelming favorite to win.

Woods enters the tournament as a 11/10 favorite to win according to the online sports book SBGGLOBAL. Other short odds to win are Geoff Ogilvy (10/1), Adam Scott (16/1), and Michael Sim (18/1).
Woods is coming off a sixth place finish last weekend in the WGC-HSBC Champions. Woods has only missed one cut this year and has six wins to his credit with 15 top-10 finishes in 18 events.

Ogilvy is an Australian native who is coming off a 10th place finish in last week’s HSBC Champions event. Ogilvy has finished sixth and first in his last two tournaments in Australia and has two wins to his credit in 2009.

Adam Scott is also an Australian native and is coming off a third place finish in the Barclays Singapore Open last weekend. Scott has missed 10 cuts this year as he has struggled with consistency, but has made the cut in his last three events and improved his finish with each week.

Sim is an Australian native that plays a large amount of events in his home country. Sim finished 11th in last year’s Australian Masters and has finished in the top 20 in four of his last five Australian events. Sim has three wins this year.
