Mickelson bests Woods
Phil Mickelson won an event for the first time when paired with Tiger Woods in the final round as “Lefty” won the 2009 WGC-HSBC Champions on Sunday morning.

Mickelson shot a 3-under 69 in Sunday’s final round to finish -17 overall and hold off Ernie Els, who shot a 9-under 63 on Sunday to finish a shot behind Mickelson at -16 overall.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Mickelson entered the tournament with 12/1 odds to win, meaning a $100 bet on Mickelson will pay out $1,200.
Woods finished tied for sixth overall with a tournament score of -12. Woods shot an even par 72 on Sunday and finished his last two rounds a combined 2-under par.
Ryan Moore finished third at 15-under overall while Rory McIlroy shot a 63 on Sunday to finish fourth at -14 overall. Nick Watney rounded out the top five at -13 overall.
