Offseason Additions:
Cleveland traded Damon Jones and Joe Smith (to the Bucks and Thunder, respectively) for point guard Mo Williams. The Cavs hope that Williams can be LeBron James’ wingman and get the team back to the Finals.
2008-2009 Season Outlook:
If Williams and King James gel, it could be a great tandem that leads to big things. This isn’t a very explosive roster, but it’s got a ton of quality nonetheless. If the Cavs can get more out of Ben Wallace on the defensive front, Delonte West and Daniel Gibson give the teams a solid backcourt.
This squad will make the playoffs, but the main question is – how far will they go? It seems that James can only take them so far, so Williams, West and Gibson will have to step up for this team to make a deep run. Still, they’ve got an experienced squad that has postseason experience. Therefore, this might be a solid value bet.
