Offseason Additions:

The Grizzlies made some moves this offseason, none bigger than acquiring Antoine Walker and Marko Jaric. Neither player might fit into the team’s long-term plans, but they were part of a package deal that netted the team O.J. Mayo.

2008-2009 Season Outlook:

There’s no other way to put it: the Grizzlies are long shots this year. But so were the Tampa Bay Rays at the start of the 2008 MLB Season and they made it all the way to the World Series.

This team has some young talent in Mayo, Rudy Gay, Mike Conley and Hakim Warrick. You never know if a team will unit and start producing. Obviously the talent is there, but all of the individual pieces have to come together now – especially when you throw Walker and Jaric into the mix. Memphis has a tough road ahead of them playing in the West, but they likely won’t be pushovers either.
