UFC 104 Undercard
The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to pay-per-view this Saturday, Oct. 24 with UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua, from the Staples Center in
While the pay-per-view event will feature five fights, the undercard has six fights that will take place prior to the start of the PPV. Here are some bets to consider for the undercard.
Ryan Bader -500 over Eric Schafer
Now Bader’s betting line is quite large, so putting money on him may not be the best idea, but he is almost a lock to win this fight as his size and skills are superior to Schafer, who is limited to submissions only. Bader had a successful college wrestling career and has turned that into a nice UFC career thus far. An Ultimate Fighter winner, the UFC wants to get Bader up the ladder quickly and a win over Schafer is almost a shoe-in.
Yushin Okami -260 over Chael Sonnen
Okami has quietly become one of the top middleweights in the UFC, winning nine of his last 10 fights. Okami has not been able to finish many opponents and has not been finished inside the octagon, but he should be able to control Sonnen for all three rounds quite easily. Okami is a big 185-pounder that will use his size to get Sonnen down and utilize his ground-and-pound to earn a decision win.
Jorge Rivera +142 over Rob Kimmons
Rivera has struggled in the past with powerful strikers, but fared well with grapplers, which is what Kimmons likes to do. Rivera will have more power and quickness in his strikes and will not be easily taken down or submitted. Rivera has more experience and is fighting to keep his UFC job in this one, so expect him to come out more motivated and finish Kimmons with a first or second round TKO for the mild upset.
