United States GP Picks
The Formula 1 Series returns to action later today for the running of the United States Grand Prix. Here are the drivers we like to win today.
The United States Grand Prix takes place today at 3PM ET from Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The race is a 192-mile contest that will run 56 laps around the track. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Lewis Hamilton is favored to win this race, as he has -125 odds. Other short odds to win are Sebastian Vettel (+200) and Valtteri Bottas (+550).
Lewis Hamilton is a five-time winner of this race and the three-time defending champion in the United States. Hamilton is on a roll right now, winning four of the last five F1 races while placing second in the other. Hamilton is pulling away with the championship right now and he can really extend the lead with a win today.
Valtteri Bottas is having a strong run in his first year with Mercedes and now he can make a run at finishing second in the series behind Hamilton. He is just a handful of points behind Vettel for second and Vettel has been in a real funk as of late. Bottas has one win this year with four runner-up finishes. He has only finished outside the top 5 in two races this year. Look for Bottas to possibly steal the win if Hamilton slips up.
Max Verstappen is listed with +1100 odds, but he is on a nice hot streak. Verstappen was first in Malaysia a few weeks ago and then placed second in Japan. Now he comes to the United States, a track where he posted a top-5 finish a few years ago. Verstappen didn’t have anything to be excited about until a few weeks ago, but his recent hot streak makes him a nice dark horse consideration.
