Mickelson Gets A Win
Phil Mickelson got his first victory since returning from supporting his wife’s breast cancer battle on Sunday when he won the 2009 Tour Championship.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Mickelson entered the tournament with 25/1 odds to win, meaning a $100 bet on Mickelson will pay out $2,500.
Mickelson shot a 5-under 65 to get the win. Mickelson played his final two rounds 9-under to finish at 9-under for the championship, three shots ahead of Tiger Woods.
Woods finished in second after shooting an even-par 70 on Sunday. Despite coming in second, Woods still finished as the winner of the FedEx Cup Playoffs, taking home the $10 million prize.
Sean O’Hair came in third at 5-under for the tournament after shooting a 1-under 69 on Sunday.
Kenny Perry led by two heading into the final round, but shot a 4-over 74 on Sunday to finish at -4 for the tournament, tied for fourth.
