Woods in the hunt
The first round of the 2009 Tour Championship is in the books and Sean O’Hair finds himself alone atop the leaderboard.
O’Hair shot a 4-under 66 on Thursday to set the pace for the field, while Tiger Woods is tied for second place at 3-under, and is the favorite to win.
Woods has odds of 4/7 to win according to the online sports book SBGGLOBAL. Other short odds to win are Padraig Harrington (7/1), O’Hair (9/1), and Steve Stricker (15/1).
Woods is tied with Harrington and Stewart Cink at 3-under for the tournament. Woods was even through his first nine holes but finished the final nine 3-under to find himself near the top.
Harrington shot a 67 on Thursday to finish tied for second. Harrington was 4-under after his first nine, but had no birdies with one bogey on the back nine.
O’Hair also shot 4-under on the front nine and birdied two holes on the back nine, but bogied two as well, including the 17th hole to fall back to 4-under for the tournament.
Stricker is tied with six other golfers in ninth place at even par for the tournament. Stricker played both sides event, as he was never able to get into a groove on Thursday.
