The top 30 players remaining on the FedEx Cup standings compete in this week’s event, so the competition will be tight, but the potential for a runaway winner is stronger.

Tiger Woods 1/1

While Woods won’t pay out much, he is a safe play as he is a two-time winner of the event and is looking to secure the FedEx Cup championship with a strong showing. Woods is coming off a win in the BMW Championship and back-to-back wins is certainly not out of the question.

Steve Stricker 16/1

Stricker is the only other golfer with a relative shot to beat Woods for the FedEx Cup, but it will take a win to do it, so Stricker will be looking to play at his best. Stricker has been very consistent late in the year, moving up to second in the world rankings thanks to his two victories in the last couple months.

Zach Johnson 22/1

Not much has been made of Johnson since his Masters win a few years ago, but Johnson has been in the hunt in almost every tournament he has been in since late June. Johnson is coming off a fifth place finish at the BMW Championship and has five top 20’s in his last seven events.

The 2009 Tour Championship will be played at East Lake starting on Thursday, Sept. 24 and concluding Sunday, Sept. 27.
