The The Barclays kicks off Thursday and our group of writers handicappers hand out their free picks for this weekend’s golf action.
Steve Stricker 11/1
Stricker is a past champion of this event and is ranked No. 4 in the world yet playing the best of any of the top four. Stricker has yet to miss a cut this year and his worst finish is 55th. He has two wins and six top 10’s on the year. Stricker’s consistency makes him a strong play for the weekend.
Ernie Els 20/1
Els is the top-ranked golfer in the FedEx standings for a reason. He has seven top 10’s and two wins on the year. He had a string of bad play where he missed three-straight cuts, but he has since rebounded and finished in the top 22 in his last two events. Els finished second in last year’s event and has finished in the top six in three of the last four FedEx Cup Playoff events.
Sean O’Hair 45/1
This was the one event that slipped O’Hair up last year, but he was in the top 10 of the last three FedEx Cup playoff events. O’Hair has finished in the top 12 in seven events this year and he is a solid dark horse pick for the weekend. With 45/1 odds, you don’t have to put a lot on O’Hair to still win big.
