The Favorite

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com has made Roger Federer a 9/4 favorite to win this year’s tournament. Other short odds are Rafael Nadal (5/2), Andy Murray (7/2), and David Nalbandian (10/1). Federer won this tournament from 2004-2008 but finished runner-up last year to Juan Martin del Potro. Federer has won 16 grand slam titles in his career.

Previous Winners

Juan Martin del Potro won last year but he is unable to play this year due to injury. Prior to Federer’s run, Andy Roddick won in 2003. He has 15/1 odds to win. Another former winner that is competing this year is Lleyton Hewitt. He has 100/1 odds to win in 2010.

Recent Success

Feder is coming off a win in the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters last weekend while Andy Murray and Nalbandian also have recent hard-court wins. Nadal’s last win came at Wimbledon.
