The 2010 FedEx Cup get started this week with the Barclays and the top 125 golfers on the PGA Tour will compete for the $10 million purse over the next four tournaments.

Phil Mickelson enters the playoffs as the favorite to win according to the online sports book SPORTS Mickelson has 5/1 odds to win while other short odds are Ernie Els (6/1) and Steve Stricker (7/1).

The FedEx Cup playoffs include The Barclays, The Deutsche Bank Championship, The BMW Championship, and The Tour Championship. The tournament starts with the top 125 golfers and each week, the tournament is reduced down in number. The competitors will go from 125 to 100 to 70 to 30 with each respective tournament until the player with the most points following The Tour Championship wins the FedEx Championship.

Mickelson currently sits fourth in the standings with 1,629 points. Mickelson has won both the Deutsche Bank Championship and the Tour Championship in recent years. This year, Mickelson has won The Masters, which is his lone victory of the year.

Els is the current leader of the FedEx Cup with 1,846 points. Els has not won any of the FedEx Cup playoff events, but he has two wins in 2010.

Stricker is second in the FedEx Cup standings with 1,697 points. Stricker has won the Barclays and Deutsche Bank Championship in recent years and he also has two wins in 2010.

Tiger Woods has won the FedEx Cup two times in the last three years. He has 15/1 odds to win it in 2010. Woods is winless on the year and currently is 112th in the standings with just 431 points.
